Square or Round? Part Due

A few weeks ago I tried to drum up a discussion on preferences for square or round. When it comes to storage, I'm a square girl. They just stack and organize and play together so nicely.
However, we are considering a new kitchen table and I think I want round. Something along these lines:

I don't recall having a round table for any period of time, so I may be mistaken. There is no head of the table at a round table. There are no table legs if it's a pedestal table, thusly allowing more people to be stuffed at said table when we have guests. (Did I use thusly correctly? This is one of my current favorite words, along with whilst. Oh, and I am practicing my Italian via a Chic-Fil-A kids meal CD, hence the part Due.)

What kind of table do you have? What are the benefits? I need to know these things.

12 Inches

Last year on December 12th I had 12 inches of my hair cut off. Apparently you aren't supposed to make major changes to your hair when you are pregnant. Why? Is it because you are already going through major changes? Thankfully, I didn't know about this rule until after I had my haircut.

I went to the Aveda Salon where I have been getting my hair trimmed for the last few years and I thought the owner was going to do a dance when I told her I wanted it short. I love the cut and haven't even considered letting it grow out. It' s super short in the back and longer in the front and takes about 5 minutes to blow dry. I had the same haircut in 1990. Way back then I think we called it a reverse bob. And you thought Posh Spice was the first one.

Do I Even Know Six Bloggers That Know Me?

-I have wanted to get tagged for a meme since the first time I read one (because I love to talk about myself.) The first time I saw the word meme I had to look it up because I had no clue what it was or how to pronounce it. For the record, I am pronouncing it with a long E because I think it makes more sense that way and I kind of don't care if it's right or not.

The trouble is, now that Debbie at This is the Life tagged me for this meme I am feeling a little nervous that I can't come up with six other people to tag that won't think "Who the heck is this random person tagging ME for a meme?" It's all part of that "does anyone really read this thing but me, my husband and Debbie?" Which, I always say I don't care about, but clearly I do since I am now writing this!

Oh shush! Now let's get down to the meme of
Six Unimportant Things About Me
. Here are the rules:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you. (Done)
2. Post these rules on your blog. (Uh, huh)
3. Share six unimportant things about yourself (I finally get to tell you the things I have been dying to tell you!)
4. Tag six random people at the end of your entry. (Don't be sad if I didn't pick you, you were spared.)

Here you go friends, read 'em and weep.

1. I do not like the color purple or dinosaurs. If you give me anything purple or give my son anything with a dinosaur on it, I will donate it to charity. Sorry, but you have been warned.

2. I love home remedies and I am proud of it. Call me a mountain mama and I will be your BFF.

3. I have a strong dislike for plastic and the microwave. I allow both in moderation, but dream of a life and house with neither. And I'm not just talking about plastic IN the microwave, which I would never allow.

4. I could drink a frozen Coke, Slurpee, Icee whatever you call them in your neck of the woods, every day of the week. I did the happy dance when I found out last month you can get one at Burger King without even getting out of your car.

5. I am allergic to Penicillin and aspartame. Well, I'm not really allergic to aspartame, but I think it's poison so I tell doctors I am allergic to it when they ask. (Diet Coke is poisoning you Debbie, according to me.)

6. I LOVE AUTO RACING! I am from Indianapolis so I come by it honestly. And, it turned the head of my amazing husband, which might just be the reason he proposed to me 3 months after we met.

I am tagging these Blogarinas, even though they are very popular and might not even have time to respond to meme's anymore. They are my go to girls, when I read blogs I always visit theirs first.

Nester at Nesting Place.
Emily at Chatting at the Sky.
Meredith at Like Merchant Ships.
Tracey at Notes from a Cottage Industry.
Julia at Hooked on Houses.
Lauren at My Life with Books.

Monogrammed Coffee

Thanks for sticking with me during these postpartum days...I know my posts have been few and my topics brief.
I promise I am visiting your blogs, which is why I don't have time to post on my own! For now, you will just have to enjoy this photo of the breakfast my Mr. Incredible made on Friday. Ask your husband to make you one, and make sure he puts your monogram in the coffee.

Square or Round?

A Tupperware lady once told me they have discovered there are square people and round people and most everyone has a preference. I have heard the same thing about green and blue. I am a square green person. What are you?

Don't Do This to Your House

Last summer we were making a delicious dinner on our deck. And then, there was this little mishap with the grill:
When you smell something odd while grilling, it's time to move the grill away from the house.

No Rack Spice Rack

For years I have had daily fights with my spices. They would usually win. I would dig through the cabinet, some would jump out and spill, others would hide in the back, some would stay front and center...and the one I needed was never front and center. Well, no more fights. I bought these spice jars at World Market, broke out the P-Touch and lined them all up marching band style in a drawer. I smile at these guys everyday, and I'm pretty sure they smile right back.

You Are Going to Want One of These

Last week I was checking out Notes from a Cottage Industry and saw the cutest pendant. I immediately ran over to Lipstick and Laundry and got one for myself. The beads are vintage and it is the perfect size.
The day I got home from the hospital it was in my mailbox. Even the wrapping was cute! It was packed up in a little nest with this adorable tag...I love the details! I think I will hang the tag in Chloe's room.
