Sibling Class

We went to a sibling class at the Birthing Inn last week where we toured the hospital and Noah got to see what it may be like to care for the new baby. He wasn't too sure about the whole diaper changing deal.

"Um, Dad...is that right?"

Disposable (cute) Slippers

This Friday we head to the hospital to deliver another baby. Won't that be fun! I wanted to take a pair of slippers, but knew that I would throw them away after scuffling around a hospital in them for 4 days. (I try to pretend like I'm no longer a germaphobe, but there are still a few lingering traits.)

So, I found some free hotel slippers in my closet.
After a little beautification they are hospital, and trash can ready.
RIP Howard Hughes.

How To Keep A Baby Busy

Keeping Noah busy while I cook dinner makes for a happy mama and a happy baby.

How about a mixing bowl with a few noodles. Now that sure looks like fun!

He Is Risen!

`The Resurrection
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " Then they remembered his words.

Envelope Beautification

Remember a few posts ago when I told you about my new favorite, Vista Prints? Well, because their stuff is so cheap and they are always offering free stuff, I just got these note cards *FOR FREE* after shipping.

Then I did a little envelope beautification ala Martha Stewart using scrapbook paper. (Because I have this problem with buying scrapbook paper, so I have tons, even though I have never once made a scrapbook.)
Now, who wouldn't want to open an envelope full of daisies?

I also beautified the first set of note cards like this:
First it looked like this mess:
I thought this paper looked like dead flowers until I paired it with these note cards. I love using up ugly things and making them look pretty. Lined envelopes are so much nicer than plain. I am so fancy.

Good Friday

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

Thank you for the cross.

Pioneer Woman Addict

"Hi, my name is Tracey, and I'm a Pioneer Woman addict."

"Hi Tracey, welcome."

There must be a 12 step program for this, because it appears I am not the only one who is an avid reader of PW. I don't even bother commenting on her posts because by the time I read them she usually has over 300 comments, or if the post is a chapter from "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels: A Love Story" she will have over 600 comments or if it is a "Give That Photo a Name" post she will have over 3,000 comments! Crazy blog readers.

I like thinking I have things in common with my favorite bloggers. But, this one is different. We really do have MANY things in common. I know we would be BFF's if I lived near their ranch. Observe:
  1. We both think our husbands are the greatest things walking on this earth.
  2. We both love to cook, talk and think about food and aren't afraid of butter.
  3. She claims to be the #1 Loather of Vomit on the planet, I am actually #1.
  4. We both love burps and seem to think they are an acceptable way to show affection.
  5. We both gave birth to a baby 5 weeks premature and had emergency c-sections
  6. We both love Martha Stewart and hydrangeas and are proud of it.
I could go on, but you get my point. And this, dear friend is why you have not seen a post from me in a week. I have been reading Pioneer Woman's blog. I finally read all 31 chapters of Black Heels to Tractor Wheels and now I will wait patiently for the next chapter...and write some posts for my own blog before heading to the hospital next Friday to birth another baby.

I am an addict. Gimme another hit of that P-Dub goodness.

Using Up The Leftovers

I love it when I can make a new delicious meal out of leftovers. Maybe you won't think this is too creative, but it tasted so flippin' good I had to take a picture.

Steak Fried Rice!

What is your favorite leftover creation? Is there a meal you make knowing there will be leftovers to make a completely different meal?

My New Favorite

Have you heard of Vista Prints? Well you better click here right away if you love to personalize as much as I do. I just ordered these cute note cards, note pad and some even cuter return address labels. It all came within 7 days (even though I chose the cheapest shipping and it said it could take 21 days.) The quality is great, no cheap flimsy cards here, this is nice card stock sister. The stuff is super cheap and they are always offering freebies where you just pay the shipping. I got 10 note cards, one note pad and 280 return address labels for under $15...and they made it my way. You can get specific about every detail, it took no time at all, I did it online while watching Idol.

Will it be Jonah or Chloe?

When I was pregnant with Noah I spent the last few weeks before he was born knitting a blue baby blanket. The whole time thinking "Well, if we don't have a boy I will just give this blanket to my friend Nancy who I know is having a boy this month." Here I am again, 2 years later, knitting a baby blanket during the last few weeks of pregnancy and once again thinking "Well, if we don't have a girl I will just give this blanket to my friend Nancy who I know is having a girl this month."

How easy is this?!

I'm a sucker for monograms or anything personalized. I was looking at these boring slippers about to throw them in the charity bin (that's what I do with things I'm tired of looking at) and realized a little fabric marker monogram might go a long way.

Saved from the bin by a marker and 30 seconds.

Pantry Beautification

Jo-Ann's has scrapbook paper on sale for .30 a sheet this week. I took another tip from my favorite blogger The Nester and gave my pantry a little makeover. I am such a copy cat, but I don't care because I smile every time I open the door.

Before
Just like Nester, I used a low melt hot glue gun and tacked those sheets right to the wall. And they really do come off easily with a tug...I know because I had to reposition one.
After

This was my first successful hot glue gun project. I have named my new gun Roxanne because she is so easy. She is Stanleah's new competition. Although she did burn me a little, even on low temp...she is just that sassy.
